Fried Green Beans

In our home, take one can of green beans, warm them up and serve them.  Now take the leftovers, put them in the fridge and 4 weeks later throw them out.

Now take two cans and fry them up.  If you are third in line you may not get any.

Ingredients (Adjust amounts based on desired amount)
  • 2 Cans Whole Green Beans (Use frozen if desired)
  • Your Favorite Seasoning
  • EVOO
  • 2 Cloves Garlic (Chopped)
  • 1/2 Onion (Chopped) (If Desired)
Take two cans of whole green beans and drain them well.  They need to be good and dry.  Put them in a large bowl and add a small amount of evoo.  Toss to get the evoo on all the beans.  Now season them with your favorite seasoning, tossing them as you sprinkle on the seasoning.  We use steak seasoning salt.

Heat a heavy skillet so it's very hot.  I use a gas stove and a cast iron skillet and turn the burner on high.  Add just a little evoo and a couple of chopped cloves of garlic to the skillet a few seconds before adding the beans.

Stand back and add the beans.  It should pop.  Spread the beans out to cover the entire skillet.

Turn the beans when they begin to brown on the bottom.  Do not over mix the beans.  They will start to fall apart.

Onion Twist:  Chop 1/2 an onion and saute it in the evoo for a couple of minutes before adding the beans to the skillet.

Works very well with Fried Potatoes
